Ecowest Renovations offers quality bathroom renovations to homeowners in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam and other areas throughout Greater Vancouver. We have created a unique process to help homeowners with budgeting and select their ideal look.
Typical bathroom renovation contractors will do one of three things. If the contractor is only interested in earning a profit through labour costs, they will require you to purchase your own bathtub, showerhead, tiles, flooring, cabinets, etc. and then bill you for the installation. This isn't ideal because then the homeowner must pay standard retail pricing, and products purchased by the homeowner are not typically covered under warranty by the installer. And, to add to the inconvenience, the purchased bathroom products must be shipped and stored in a garage or empty room until the bathroom renovation actually takes place.
Alternatively, if a bathroom renovation contractor has their own supplier, then they will probably create a quote after you have selected all the materials and accessories that you want in your bathroom. This also isn't ideal because the quote presented may not fit the target budget and the materials selected must be revised - note that labour is generally the same regardless of the materials selected. Many smaller installation companies pay full retail pricing and add a profit margin afterward, meaning you will pay more than retail for the items once they are installed.
Lastly, the big box store model. Here, you shop for materials looking at isolated product displays while being inundated with marketing and promotions. Unfortunately, you are still paying standard retail pricing for the materials. And then you pay a much higher-than-average installation rate because the big box store as well as the subcontractor that they hire to do the installation needs to make money. So, you are buying the materials first and then forced to accept a very high installation cost.
Because of the "pains" experienced in the above models for homeowners doing bathroom renovations, Ecowest decided to create a better process. Our bathroom renovation process unfolds as follows:
- In-home visit - We come to your home to look at the bathroom, make measurements and discuss the project with you.
- Create quote - We will create a proposal for you that provide allowances for either Economy, Mid-grade or High-end materials
- Select budget - Each price provides you with a budget that you can "spend" on the materials and accessories you want in your bathroom. At this point, you will decide how much you want to spend on your project which will determine the level of materials you can shop for.
- Select materials - We'll direct you to our suppliers, such as Robinson Lighting and Bath, to select the materials using one of the three budgets set in the quote. This key step gives you the flexibility to make your own decisions about aesthetics within a given price range. Since payments are made only to Ecowest, you do not need to make payments once you choose the products.
- Installation - The materials are purchased and picked up by Ecowest prior to the installation.
- Payment - Once the installation is completed, Ecowest will do a final inspection with you to ensure that the project has met or exceed your expectations. Any remaining payments will be collected at this time.
This process is ideal because it leaves room for the homeowner to choose aesthetics after the project budget has been agreed to. Ultimately, this means no haggling over prices and no surprises, which creates a better experience for all parties involved.
