There have been a couple changes to the grants a rebates available to homeowners planning to make home renovations in the next year. Firstly, the federal ecoEnergy Retrofit Program has stopped taking bookings as of March 31, 2010. This means that any homeowner that has not already got the pre-retrofit audit is not eligible for the program. If you have gotten your pre-retrofit audit, then you have until March 31, 2011 to complete your renovations and your post-retrofit audit.
The second change is that the LiveSmart BC Efficiency Incentive Program is back as of April 1, 2010 - yes, the BC grant and rebate program has relaunched just as the federal grant and rebate program ended. Homeowners in BC are eligible for up to $5000 in rebates until March 31, 2011. Read the LiveSmart BC brochure for more information.
